At the… spot

His work, titled At the... spot (2023), as described by the artist, arises from an event where relationships between people unfold.

The artist employs algraphy. With a refined nonchalance, modern vivacity, a variety of tones, and even a certain virtuosity, Czech delves into the essence of the Dante-Beatrice encounter, intuiting its profound connection. He doesn’t aim to descend into superficiality; he certainly wants to follow one of the teachings attributed to the philosopher Thomas Hobbes (1588-1679), “primum vivere, deinde philosophari” (“first think about living, then philosophizing”). However, at the same time, he highlights how the experience of Dante’s Paradise is “an entirely mental adventure”. Undoubtedly, Dante’s concept of “transhumanism” is realized through the deepening of the intellect and the kindling of love, ultimately finding expression in the idea of ineffability. The artist refrains from delving into explicit explanations of this matter, at least not unless it is conveyed through the interplay of circles that persist both outside and within the female figure.
