Canto IX Odissea: Polifemo urla

Polyphemus’s aching face sums up canto IX of the Odyssey, which is about one of the many adventures Odysseus faces before coming back to Ithaca. No setting is necessary to the engraved scene since the monster’s blinded face is emblematic of Odysseus’s plan to escape the cave together with his fellow travellers. After blinding the cyclopes, the hero flees clinging onto the flock’s fleece to avoid being seen by others. Thanks to his cunning plan, all his mates managed to come back home. (Alessandra Durante)
