The artist looks and encourages reflection. 

On the dazzling asphalt of a road, in the foreground, ‘ghosts’ of human beings can be glimpsed. Darkness reigns all around, except in the upper part where the long, blinding strip of the road returns. The landscape has been territorialised: people move around in silence.

The motivation behind the etching is undoubtedly to combat climate change and to comply with the Goals of the 2030 Agenda. One can thus speak of Magic Realism. In this respect, we could link Poma to Massimo Bontempelli who said in Avventura novecentista: “(...) It makes us feel, through an intense restlessness, almost another dimension in which our life is reflected”. Description, purism, silence, analysis, and objective coldness are the most significant qualities that thus emerge from the isolated columns of Distanti. (Giulia Scarafoni, Filomena Tavares)
